About the Author
Arthur Sandeen is professor of higher education at the University of Florida. He was elected president of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) in 1977. Sandeen is the author of numerous articles and book chapters.

Margaret Barr is professor emerita in the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University. She is the author or editor of numerous books and monographs including The Handbook of Student Affairs Administration, Second Edition, with Mary K. Desler from Jossey-Bass.
Together Sandeen and Barr have over forty-five years combined experience as university vice-presidents prior to their retirement.

Aimed at the Higher Ed Student Affairs crowd - but well done.

Was required to have this for a graduate course. It is much easier and quicker reading than a lot of course texts. Overall it is a well done book. Definitely aimed at the higher ed student affairs crowd. Not sure it is a book to read for fun, but if you do read it, the authors do definitely provide some insight into the complexities of student affairs work.

Lord Alexander finds the small child to be his ward is enchanting when he takes her into his home when she was nine. Perhaps spirited would have been a more appropriate adjective as she grows up, seeming to test him at every turn. At nineteen she is informed that it is time she be wed. Determined is another word for the very beautiful, woman and Cassia soon proves she is not an easy woman to impress. It is only when she is introduced to a man that does not seem interested in the rude young woman, and only when he is stronger than her own spirit does she realize that quite possibly she has met her match. This is one of the books in the Medieval Maidens boxed set. It is very well written and an absolute delight to read. Highly recommend for anyone that likes their heroines soft and spirited and their men dominant and caring

Love this story

Cassandra, or rather Cassia, lives with her guardian, Lord Alexander. We start the story with her being birched by Lord Alexander for kissing a groom. But, that story is not true. She had her maid tell Lord Alexander that so she could get disciplined. She has discovered that she enjoys being birched by Lord Alexander. So, Lord Alexander feels that he needs to find someone for her to mar even though he has feelings for her. Cassia does not want to marry, so she finds fault with all of her suitors. But, then she meets Willhelm and she discovers that maybe she does want to marry. Alexander and William come to an agreement and Cassia goes to Willhem’s home or a week to see if she can be obedient. Many more spankings occur and there is a HEA. Love this story! I give this story 5 stars.

Cassia is an unusual woman for her time. She is a woman who knows exactly what she wants and is determined to get it. As a young girl, Cassia becomes aware of her arousal during a spanking by her guardian. As she grows older, she uses bad behavior to ensure she gets spanked to have these erotic moments. When her guardian looks for a husband for her, Cassia continues her bad behavior to ward off any marriage to a man. Finally, she meets Graf and goes too far. It was fun reading about a man who refused to spank for bad behavior, but spanked for good behavior. It all comes good at the end with everyone getting what they deserved.

A must-read! Totally opened my eyes.

I re-purchased this book after realizing that it totally shifted the way I view the world when I first read it back in 2001. Even though it's from the 1980's, Angela Davis's words are still relevant, and especially illuminating for me, as a white woman. I just really loved and appreciated this book and am excited to read it again. I also remember reading "Ain't I A Woman?" by bell hooks at that time, and recommend reading the two in tandem. Great insights from two of this country's preeminent thinkers.

I read this book for my Women in Politics class.

This book's central focus is intersectional feminism. It highlights how gender, race, and class factor into inequality. This book started off incredibly strong, but lost its way a bit in the later chapters. However, still a fantastic and insightful book.

Amen! Amen!

I would like to thank Dr. Osei, and of course his editors, Dr. Issa, and Dr. Faraji, for this very competent extrapolation on the use of the word "Amen" in the world "religions" of today. The modern world system, manifested as "global white supremacy", in it's institutions of higher learning, have given no credit to anything or anybody that comes from Afrika.

This attitude, is used due to jealousy, envy, and racisim, of the so called white race, because of their lack of melanin, and their late start into civilization. More contemporaneously, they have used this attitude to justify the pillage, rape, and destruction of peoples, lands, and civilizations across the globe. The most heinous of their crimes, has been the cooptation of the only true "God", as was conceived by Afrikans in the nile valley thousands of years ago, into "their" own cultural/ethnic eurocentric presentation to the world. History does not substantiate their lies, and this work, along with "The Ancient Egyptians are here", substantiates the truth of who the real Khemites are, and who god really is. Thank you!!!!!!!!

I would like to critique this work with some additional comment. My research has shown me that the ancient khemites did not use the word dark" as a descriptor of objects, as they did the word "Black". This is very important, because global white supremacy, has redefined, and defined, words to take on meanings for their benefit. Dark, for example, is always equated with ignorance, barbaric, dirty, without light. Black, however, according to science, and ancient Afrikans, is the origin of all things. Even "white light", comes from Ultraviolet light, (beyond violet, or black), or black light. Black contains all the light, colors, etc. We should refer to the "Nun", and ourselves as Black, not dark. See the book, "The Meaning of Blackness", by IM Nur.

Secondly, and lastly, there were many migrations oput of Afrika, before and after the invasions by europeans, and asians/arabs. When you designate who the ancient egyptians are, you can't just say it was those Afrikans in current West Afrika, and the diaspora of the west. Afrikans left the nile valley and saharan complex areas, before and after the invasions. These Afrikans, in other places of the globe besides the west, also have many of the cultural/genetic links to the ancient nile valley.

Financial Management for Pharmacists, 4th edition, was developed to meet the need for a pharmacy text that covers the basics of financial accounting, managerial accounting, finance, and pharmacoeconomics. The goal of the text is to provide pharmacy students and managers with financial management tools that they can use to make decisions about common management problems and to better understand the impact of those decisions. The book begins with a basic introduction to reading and interpreting financial statements (Chapters 1 and 2). Chapters 3 through 13 deal with those managerial accounting and finance topics of greatest relevance to pharmacy managers. These include financial statement analysis, budgeting, cash budgeting, improving cash flow, break-even analysis, sources and uses of cash, capital budgeting, and inventory control. Three of these chapters discuss pricing and reimbursement. Chapter 9 illustrates how to estimate the costs of providing a good or service and discusses non-cost factors that affect pricing. Chapter 10 discusses third-party reimbursement for pharmacy products and Chapter 11 discusses reimbursement for pharmacy services such as medication therapy management. Chapters 14 and 15 provide a basic introduction to pharmacoeconomics, including budget impact analysis and decision analysis. Besides explaining and demonstrating the necessary calculations, these chapters demonstrate the use of financial management and pharmacoeconomic techniques to address common managerial problems. This is done through use of detailed examples and problems. For example, the chapter on break-even analysis demonstrates use of the technique in pricing and advertising decisions, and the chapter on pricing explains how to calculate the cost of providing a diabetic care counseling and monitoring service. The decision analysis chapter provides an example of using decision analysis and budget impact analysis for formulary decision making. The text includes learning objectives at the beginning of each chapter and questions and problems at the end of each chapter. Answers are provided for the questions and problems.

About the Author
Dr. Carroll is a Professor of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research at the School of Pharmacy at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Dr. Carroll received B.S. in Pharmacy, M.S. in Pharmacy Administration, and Ph.D. degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before joining VCU, he was a faculty member at the University of Georgia’s College of Pharmacy. He teaches courses in financial management, pharmacoeconomics, and managed care pharmacy. His research involves pricing, costs of care, and insurance and reimbursement in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industry. His recent research has examined the financial burden of cancer care and its effects on patients’ quality of life, the prevalence of anti-diabetic and antilipidemic medication use in children and adolescents treated with atypical antipsychotics, and the economic burden of opioid poisoning. Dr. Carroll’s publications have appeared in a number of peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Managed Care and Specialty Pharmacy, American Journal of Managed Care, Pharmacotherapy, and Cancer. Dr. Carroll is a Fellow of the American Pharmacists Association and a member of the Editorial Board of The Consultant Pharmacist.
